Customers and staff at our Nisa Local in The Glebe, Stevenage are clubbing together this Christmas for a really good cause, raising money for the local Garden House Hospice. Our collection pots around the store are filling up quickly and we’d like to thank all our customers for their generous donations.
16 July 2014 - ‘Team Nisa' Delighted To Support Hemel Sevens For Fifth Year Running
We were proud to be sponsoring the Hemel Sevens football tournament last weekend (12 and 13 July) for the fifth year running. As well as donating a cheque for £1,000, ‘team Nisa’ was there in force to provide much needed drinks and snacks as well as a BBQ throughout the weekend.
8 May 2014 - Support Local School Girl, Kayleigh
We're getting behind local 14-year-old school girl, Kayleigh Parker, who is one of just 12 girl guides in the region to be selected to attend an international guiding event in British Columbia. She needs to raise £2,200 for the trip. So far she's raised £1,600 and the team at Nisa Local Toddington are helping to give her the 'final push'.

It’s great to get the backing of our local MP, Andrew Selous, for our fresh fruit initiative. He came into the store to support the team at Nisa Local Neptune Square, saying “I’m delighted to support this and thank you for doing it.”
13 March 2014 - Free Fruit To Kids In Bid To Adopt Healthier Diet
In a bid to encourage children to adopt a healthier diet and choose fresh fruit as a nutritional snack over chocolate and sweets, we’re running a five-week campaign at our Nisa Local store in Neptune Square, offering pupils of local schools a free piece of fruit each week plus a low sugar Robinsons Fruit Shoot drink. We will be distributing around 5,000 vouchers to local schools, including Hawthorn Park Community Primary School, Thomas Whitehead Church of England School and Chiltern School.

We flipped our way to victory in the Houghton Regis pancake day races on Tuesday 4 March in aid of the Mayor’s charities. The team, led by Kishor Patel (right) included Dean Russell (far left), Shane Gibson and Yvette Gilmartin.
17 January 2014 - Nisa Local Supports Local Scouts in Bid to Build New Scout Hut
Nisa Local Toddington has donated £350 to the Toddington Scout Group to support them in their bid to raise £100,000 for a new scout hut, which they hope to build before the end of this year.

It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of Margaret Atkins, fondly known to us as ‘Maggie’. She had worked at the Hillborough Crescent convenience store for 40 years until she retired in May 2012.
14 January 2014 - Sponsoring a Bench For Tudor Primary School
We’ve donated £250 to Tudor Primary School for a new school bench.
Many of these children and their families are customers at our store in Crabtree Lane, Hemel Hempstead and we’re delighted to help them get a new bench, giving the children somewhere to sit and chat with friends at break-time.

An auction lot for dinner for four at the Gherkin on 17 January 2014, donated by the Nisa Local store in Toddington, raised well over its value of £340 at the Toddington Scout Group’s annual ball at the end of last year, making it the highest ever single auction bid in the scout group’s history. The ball, which raised in the region of £4,000, is just one of many fund-raising events held by the group in a bid to raise £100,000 for a new scout hut, which they hope to build before the end of this year.
